I'm sorry to report that Bill Pinder of Pontefract chess club died suddenly last weekend. He was a stalwart of the Pontefract club and captain of their Yorkshire League team for many years. His absence will be felt across the county.

Very sorry to hear about Bill, he was a nice bloke and a very organised captain when I used to play for Pontefract in the Yorks League.
