I am sorry to report that Laurie Burtt passed away the evening of 6th October 2019. He had become very frail.
It was announced on the Wanstead and Woodford Chess Club website on the 7th October 2019.
Laurie was a member of Wanstead and Woodford Chess Club for 25 years and was Tournament Secretary from 1998-99 to 2009-10.
Laurie was also captain of the Wanstead and Woodford second team in the London League.
He also played in the North Circular League and the Essex League.
