I am sorry to report that Richard Caufield has died.
He passed away the weekend of 14th/15th December 2019 at the age of 48. It is thought that Richard died in his sleep following recent and long term health problems. The funeral took place in January.
Richard played for the David Brown Gear Chess Club and also Huddersfield in the Huddersfield and District Chess Association League. He was someone who always seemed to play for the love of the game.
Outside chess, Richard was a talented semi-professional photographer and he was also the father of two children who are twins.
