Vince Skillcorn

I am sorry to inform you that Vince Skillcorn passed away last month.
Vince played for Billingham Synthonia Chess Club, Cleveland.
He regularly played for their various teams in the Cleveland Chess League and also in the Cleveland Individual Championship. He was a former member of Stokesley Chess Club which merged and became Great Ayton Chess Club.
Over the years, Vince regularly played in congresses across the North of England including Scarborough, Leeds, Middlesbrough, Durham, York and Hartlepool.
According to the grading database he played from at least the mid-nineties to 2019/2020.
He was a very popular member at Billingham Synthonia and in the Cleveland League where he also played in neighbouring clubs at The Buffs and Darlington in their domestic tournaments.
