Sad news.
The father of 5 times World Champion, Viswanathan Anand, passed away last week.
K.Viswanathan died on Thursday 15th April, after a brief illness, at the age of 92, in Chennai, India.
He was an enthusiastic and fervent supporter of his son and accompanied him to many tournaments, including the World Championship.
K.Viswanathan was also General Manager of the Southern Railway of India.
Apparently he once said to his son that he was the first GM in the family.
