IM Olavo Yepez

I am sorry to report that Olavo Yepez Obando died on Monday 17th May, aged 83, after a long illness.
Olavo was born on 20th August 1937, in San Gabriel, Carchi, Ecuador.
He won the Ecuadorian Chess Championship at Pichincha in 1962.
Olavo played three times for Ecuador, in the Chess Olympiads of 1964, 1966 and 1974, where he played on top board.
He was awarded the International Master title in 1969.
