I am sorry to inform you that the chess-turned-bridge player Ian Crorie passed away suddenly earlier this month.
Ian was a decent chess player in the 1970s and 1980s, and a stalwart of Wandering Dragons chess club for many years.
He then turned to bridge and became an International player and founded the Melville Bridge Academy.
The funeral service was held at Morton Hall Crematorium on Thursday 15th September in the larger Chapel.
Then there was a gathering at Morton Hall Golf Club on 231 Braid Road, Edinburgh, EH10 6PB.
The Edinburgh chess and bridge scene will certainly miss him.
RIP
Ian Crorie
