The sad news was reported on 6th January 2022 that Bernard Hill of Selkirk Chess Club had died.
This was reported on their twitter page by team captain John Moore:
'Sad to report the death of Bernard Hill. When he was at the club a few years ago, he looked around at the scene of grey haired members and casually remarked "I see the youth policy doesn't seem to be working too well."'
