I am sorry to report that former Belfast South Chess Club player, James Fairley, died on 2nd January 2023.
James was a regular player at the Ulster Chess Union tournament organised by Belfast South Chess Club from 2012 to 2020.
An academic in his working life, he held the title of Professor of Zoology at Galway University.
The funeral service will take place on Friday 13th January at 10.45am in St. Donard's Church of Ireland, 10A Bloomfield Road, Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT5 5LT.
