The sad news was reported that Russian International Correspondence Chess Grandmaster Aleksandr Dronov passed away on 7th December 2023, at the age of 77.
Aleksandr was born on 6th October 1946 in Moscow, Russia and became ICCF Grandmaster in 2005.
He was the 22nd, 27th and 29th World Correspondence Chess Champion.
Aleksandr was the only person to win the World Correspondence Chess Championship three times.
