I am sorry to inform you that John Peate passed away on Saturday 9th December 2023.
John was an active member of Rothamstead Chess Club and before that, played for St.Albans Chess Club.
Always courteous, he had been living with COPD for several years, but it never stopped him continuing to enjoy his chess.
