Stephen Forbes.

The Leeds Chess Association recently received the sad news of Stephen Forbes' passing, due to cancer. Stephen was a very keen chess player who played for West Leeds (Ian Strickland's club) in both the Leeds and Yorkshire Leagues. I played with him on many occasions, he was a quirky but kind gentleman and was always happy to give other players lifts to and from the venues. I don't know if many people will know him on here with him only really playing in Yorkshire but I thought I would share the news on the forum as he deserves a mention.

I am sad to inform you of the recent death of Stephen Forbes due to Cancer.
He had been fully involved in Chess.
He was the web manager for the British Rapidplay 2012 till 2020. He played in the Leeds local league and was a great character
He took lots of photography.
Although the British Rapidplay changed to ECF management in 2022 We should be all grateful for Stephen Forbes..
