Edwin Kalerwa

[Roger Lancaster]

I'm sorry to have to report Edwin's death - and sorrier still that there's not a great deal I know about him other than, as far as I am aware, he came to the UK fleeing persecution and was a member of Watford Chess Club between 2003 and 2015. Over this period and until last year, Edwin was something of a regular on the tournament circuit. Latterly Edwin was suffering from cancer and seems to have been looked after at St Martin-in-the-Fields who have organised a crowd-funder to help Edwin’s family back in Kenya get him to his homeland and family for funeral and burial.
