The sad news has been reported that the female Russian Grandmaster Valentina Kozlovskaya passed away on 22nd December 2025 at the age of 87.
Valentina was born on 18th April 1938.
She won the Women's Soviet Chess Championship in 1965 and was a member of the victorious Soviet team at the Women's Chess Olympiad in Havana 1966. She came second in the 1967 Women's Candidates Tournament.
Valentina was awarded the title of Woman Grandmaster by FIDE in 1976.
She won the Women's World Senior Championship in 1996 and in 2014 won the Women's over 65 section in the European Senior Championship.
Valentina was married to Grandmaster Igor Bondarevsky.
