From Charles Wood:

Keith Trobridge is a man who has organised some of the best events that run year on year. His work with the BDCA has been incredible, the Harold Boyd and the Shipley Rapidplay (plus many others events in the past) are brilliant events and hold pride of place in the BDCA calendar. Keith's untiring work at Shipley Chess Club has kept that club afloat through many hard years and enjoyed some great years because of it. Sadly Keith Trobridge passed away Sunday morning leaving behind an unfillable hole. The BDCA committee's thoughts go out to Keith's family and chess colleagues at Shipley Chess Club.

Keith was a really nice guy, and a stalwart of Shipley Chess Club.

I played him many times over the years and always enjoyed the games. Two in particular that I will always remember against Keith were (i) a re-arranged Bob Burns Summer Tournament game that we played in the beer garden at the Goldsborough Pub in Bradford, it was August, an amazingly hot day, we enjoyed a drink in the beer garden (pint of water for Keith) and a great game of chess, and (ii) also a re-arrangement, but this time in the Barnett Trophy, we played at Keith's house in Shipley, he destroyed me and seemed to greatly enjoy doing so, I learned a lot form the game.

Keith will be missed by his friends and the pre-season Boyd Trophy jamboree wont seem the same without him.
