The following announcement has appeared on the North Circular Chess League website
t is with regret that I have to announce that John Capes passed away on Tuesday 30 July. A full obituary will be published shortly, but to show how much a part of the NCCL John was - he played his first game in the league 8-11-57 and his last 16-10-12 - nearly 55 years later!
