ECF report on the funeral here:

A nice picture of Richard there (when was that taken?).

Plus links to the eulogies Mike mentioned.

It was suggested at the wake that he would have been about fifty at the time.

He was born in 1943, so early to mid 1990s.

I'm informed that the ECF is due to receive a gift of £400K from the estate of Richard Haddrell.

This is very welcome development.

Do we know which fund / account the gift will be paid to?

Isn't it going into the recently established charity, "Chess Trust"? There's mention of this in the unofficial accounts of the April 2017 Finance Council meeting.

(edit) According to Ben Edgell's report, available at http://www.chessit.co.uk/phpforum/viewt ... ?f=5&t=293 and elsewhere
The only other thing to note is that the late Richard Hadrell has left a very sizable amount of his estate to the ECF in his will (somewhere in the region of £400k) which the ECF has decided to put into their Chess Trust.

Roger de C. "Isn't it going into the recently established charity, "Chess Trust"?"

That is correct, and Richard specified it is to be for the benefit of junior chess activities.

According to information on the Charity Commission website there are four Trustees at the Chess Trust CIO:
Michael Truran, David Eustace, Raymond Edwards, Isabel Keen

I presume that reports on its activities will become available once it has become better established.
