From the Yorkshire website:

Friends and team-mates are saddened to report the untimely death of Simon Deighton, a fine man whose approach to life inspired respect and admiration amongst those who were fortunate to meet or play alongside and opposite him. Our thoughts are with his family at this most difficult of times.

A wonderful tribute and a delightful game both for its commentary and its vigour.
Very poignant for me because though I never knew him, he was my near contemporary. A sobering thought.
