I learnt today of the passing of Roy E Ashmore on Sunday, November 24th 2018.

His ECF grading code was 105909K

Roy was born 18th December, 1935, in Nottingham*, was married in Loughborough* and moved to Hook(?), near Basingstoke.

He was a long standing member of Basingstoke Chess Club and played for Hampshire.

He last played a graded game on March 15th, 2017 versus Godalming.

He had been unwell for some time .
