Who's the England O50 women's board 5? She appears to only have been playing chess, at least in England, for about 2.5 years. There are numerous search results saying she's a certified FIDE School Instructor. The criteria for getting that are an ability to teach school children, not a previous history of playing competitive chess.

She plays for Maidenhead in the local leagues.

Meanwhile Natasha Regan makes her debut today ( round 6) for England 3. Presumably there was overlap with the Mindsports championships, where she did so well.

In the O50 are England 1 ahead of Italy on tiebreak? It is not clear because they (England 1) are shown on table 2 with Italy on table 1, the spot reserved for the leaders or the top seeds (for seeding this would be Italy). Is there another way of determining the table placement that is overriding this?

In the O65, England 1 being squeezed out by Slovenia who are ahead despite two match draws because they beat England 1 by the score of 3-1 in their individual encounter.

But, maybe the organizers are using a different tie-break, or Italy left their towels on the top table?

10. Tie-break criteria

10.1 The ranking will be made according to match points. The team obtaining the highest number of match points being declared the winner of the competition.

10.2 The order of teams that finish with the same number of match points shall be determined by application of the following tie-breaking procedures in sequence, proceeding from A to B to C to D to the extent required:

A. by the sum of Sonneborn-Berger points, which is calculated as follows: match points of each opponent, excluding the opponent who scored the lowest number of match points, multiplied by the number of board points scored against each opponent respectively.
The highest number wins. In case of two or more opponents with this same number of match points the lowest results of multiplication should be excluded;
B. by the number of board points won, the highest number wins
C. by the sum of the board points of all team’s opponents, the highest number wins
D. by the sum of the board points of all opponents defeated plus one half of the board points of all the opponents with which a tied result was achieved, the highest number wins.

Graeme Buckley has been on a bit of a tear since losing in the first round of the Kingston Invitational. Six wins and two draws there, followed by four wins in the European Seniors.
