Caught it Justin Thanks.
But if a reviewer does not like a book then disparaging remarks are part of the review.
Just wondered why the book review bit was closed else I would have posted there.
I like the book, could have done without the techno bit but can see others enjoying that part.
Maybe two books. One on the techy side and one on games with Mathew's notes.
'I was told I must like it because I bought it new!'
Not quite. I did a deal including two Fischer's 60, Brady's book on Fischer, a Sewawin pot-boiler and some cash.
I only review books I really like. 'Chess for Zebra' was the last one. (did a deal for that one as well.)
I kept hearing Carlsen said it was 'inspiring' eventually I looked at the vid.
He says he skimmed through the book yesterday and found it, after a long pause and with
a smile on his face, 'inspirational.' (which is pretty good for a 'skim through.')
Earlier in the same interview he says he spent yesterday playing football.

Was not going to fall for a cherry-picked off-the-cuff comment that has caught the chumps...not pig-headed me.
Read a few other reviews but these were obviously freebies so they won't slay the golden goose. Kept seeing the
same 'cut and paste' phrases...and 'Inspirational.' (did they read the book, my review took, on and off, three weeks)
It was finally playing through a few Alpha games that spun me around. Something good here I'm thinking.
Gave it a very long skim through at a bookstall (missed out the game of football) ...liked a few of Mathew comments.
Here the 'skimmer' has to distinguish between 'kiss ass' and infectious honest writing. This is the latter.
If you aint got the book, get it, because if you aint got it...then you won't get it.
(and think of all the computer space you will have after wiping Stockfish from your computer)
