2200 plus and Under 2200 FIDE rated OTB events

Post by Adam Raoof » Mon Jun 14, 2021 7:29 am

I am running a series of over the board tournaments in Hendon, NW4.

If you are rated about 2200 and above I am hosting a 5 round rated event from 25 to 27 June. I already have a 2190, 2200 and 2300 taking part!

If you are Under 2200 then the dates for your diary are 19 and 20 July.

I'm also experimenting with an Under 1900 and Under 1600 so do contact me if you would like to get some real chess under your belt this summer!

Golders Green is back in July and August! book up early, 10 sections of 6 players each based on ratings, all-play-alls = 5 games FIDE and ECF rated

How are you navigating the Rule of 6 for the 25-27 June event inside your house?

How’s this one legal again? 25-27 June. 7 entries, plus yourself makes 8, plus anyone else in the house?

Sorry, there are 6 players maximum for any event, and one of those games is outdoors - or I am outdoors!

I am happy to say that I sucessfully navigated two modestly proportioned (one 4 player, one 6 player) and fully covid compliant over the board events in Hendon this week, my first OTB tournaments since March 2020. All the players enjoyed the novelty of chess in three dimensions but reported experiencing significant amounts of rust!

Check here - https://tornelo.com/chess/orgs/chess-england - for the results and for pairings of upcoming tournaments.

Check my events including Golders Green on the calendar at www.chessengland.com

Check here - http://bit.ly/chessinhendon for details of further events in Hendon.

Completed

24 June: Hendon - a 4 player event for players rated Under 1600 won by Kieran Macphail with 3/3

25-27 June: Hendon - a 6 player event (average rating 2228!) won by FM Peter Batchelor with 4/5

Coming Up

1st July - Hendon Under 1600 - 6 player mini swiss tournament (FULL)

(3-4 July Hampstead Congress online) - https://chesscircuit.substack.com/p/ham ... s-congress

5-6 July - Hendon Under 1900 - 6 players (FULL)

10 July - Golders Green Rapidplay (60 places, just 5 places left!)

12-13 July - Hendon Under 1900 - 6 players (just 3 places left)

17 July Golders Green Rapidplay (60 places)

19-20 July - Hendon Under 2200 - 6 players (3 places left)
