"There's also Cracovia - 27 December - 4 January, with a double round day on 30 December and a rest day on 1 January. It's definitely a tournament for early risers with one round starting at 8:30 am and two at 9:00 am. The remaining rounds start at 4:00 pm."

I played Cracovia in Dec 2005 - Jan 2006. The schedule was similar, and the organizers were friendly, apart from giving me 4 blacks in 5 rounds... Krakow is a nice place, although somewhat cold then. I decided to just get on with it, but heard an angry Polish rant in the hotel bar one night, and it was one of the locals complaining about the weather!

It was cold this year too, but there was quite a bit of sunshine, until snow fell on the last two nights.

China’s Xue Haowen began the event without any Fide titles and ended it as a grandmaster, unbeaten on 7/9 and breaking Judit Polgar’s record as the youngest winner

Someone needs to tell his federation to submit an application then: https://ratings.fide.com/title_applications.phtml
