Cornwall County Championship 3-5 May 2019
Formerly a closed event, this congress is now open to all comers. There are three sections: u190, u150 and u110 (includes ungraded novices). It's a long way to Falmouth but, dare I say, a more attractive destination than some other seaside congresses I could mention. Details here: http://www.cornwallchess.org.uk/html/te ... 2019.shtml

Not entirely sure this is open to all comers.

Fair point - the top section is limited to those graded under 190. I just wanted to emphasise that one didn't need to be Cornish or resident in the county.

So the best two Cornish players (that I'm aware of) aren't eligible to win the county championship because they're too good, and the third best one will become ineligible if his grade goes up by a few points, back to the best he's been recently.Brendan O'Gorman wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 10:33 amFormerly a closed event, this congress is now open to all comers. Nothing to do with me, guv, but for what it's worth here's a list of grades on the Chess Cornwall site: http://www.cornwallchess.org.uk/html/li ... ades.shtml
