British Knock out 2019

Is there one this year?
When I last checked there was only one confirmed British GM entrant to the Olympia FIDE Open and the most recent ECF newsletter has this to say
Later this month the London Chess Classic returns to Olympia for the 11th time. World Champion Magnus Carlsen joins the elite GMs fighting it out for the Grand Chess Tour prizes and there is another British Knockout tournament and a huge festival for players of all levels, along with a Chess and Female Empowerment conference and activities for schools through Chess in Schools & Communities
The website

They are playing a preliminary round on Saturday Nov 30.
Preliminary Round Format(subject to change in the light of the number of acceptances of invitations):
There will be 9rounds of games played with a time limit of 10 minutes plus 5 seconds increment.
Schedule:Game 1:1100; Game 2:1145; Game 3: 1230; Game 4: 1315; Game 5: 1430;Game 6: 1515; Game 7:1600;Game 8:16.45;Game 9:17.30.
That's the double round day in the FIDE Open. There's mention of being able to take two byes in the FIDE Open, which may imply an invite to British titled players in the FIDE Open to take part.

Not so according to the regulations. They say the three unfilled places will be decided by a qualifier. It says it's expected to be 9 rounds, subject to the number of players accepting their invitations to take part, which suggests at least 10 players have been invited. Of course, they might all be young or female.

In case anyone is wondering, I have no more detailed information, so I can't help.
I stepped down as Chief Arbiter of the BKO this year, owing to the increasing demands of my Grand Chess Tour duties.

On the southwestern strikes the district line ought to be fine. I hope you can also drop in Nick F.
I'm going to enjoy off peak travel, some leisurely bus journeys with visits to my parents.
After the congress I have the opportunity to work from home. My work laptop will be locked away in the office from noon tomorrow.
i''m looking forward to meeting all the old gits, young, in the middle, male or female, and everyone on the organisation side.

Getting an invite may have been double edged for those already intending to play in the Open, as the need to take two byes on the Saturday would rule them out from Norm chances.

Which would of course not have been a problem for the "old gits" - please note that I didn't use the term first!
