The City of Dublin Championship has a couple of FIDE sections and will take English entries 25th-27th September. Ryanair has cheap flights!

Number of entries have increased to 86.
At first quick glance at the list, there seems to be a number of overseas entrants already.

On the face of it, arrivals from mainland UK are subject to a 14 day restricted movement requirement by the Irish government.

At the recent Irish championship one of the likely title contenders felt unable to play because of quarantine restrictions, presumably because he lives in England.

Thanks Roger. You know more about these quarantine restrictions than me. I find it all very confusing these days what you can and can't do.
I'm guessing the overseas entrants are from other parts of Europe or based in the republic.

If it proves impossible to attend the Czech Open there's a tournament in Munich which starts a few days later. I can't find any information on coronavirus precautions, but it does still appear to be going ahead. The list of entrants was updated earlier this week.
Now significantly oversubscribed. Unknown to me the limit on players was reduced from 180 to 120 about 2 weeks ago. They've currently got about 160 entries, with the extra 40 on a waiting list.
... and now further reduced to 100 players, so I won't be playing in it.

I still haven't got the current number of entries for Harrogate.
The number of entries for the Manx Chess Championship now stands at 17, after it was updated on the 20th of September.

'The event subject to the Covid situation at the time'.
Simon are you on commission or not picking up this sensible message.

Hi Nick.
I wish I was on commission.
Apologies. I had to post it quick because my phone alerted that I had 5% battery left.
I forgot to add on that it was subject to Covid restrictions.
The R.O.I. events that I posted, I have added that the CUS Dublin events scheduled for the beginning of December are doubtful due to the increased Covid restrictions in the city.
I have posted a lot of Event Cancellations aswell.
I've mentioned in a previous post on Congresses Going Ahead that Dominic Cummins should have been sacked and lockdown came too late.
I also disagree with people like Jair Bolsinaro that Covid 19 is "a little flu".
I also disagree with people who believe that Covid 19 is a government conspiracy.

Isle of Man - I congratulate the chess club on their subtle humour.

Sunway Sitges say the event will go ahead in December.

Only 13 entries at the moment though, with no sign of the large number of invited, strong, players as in previous years.

Thanks - I had missed that. I had overlooked that the 2019 - 2020 Championship had not been completed.

However, there should be a more normal addition to the Honours Board a few days from now.

I think the IoM approach is a good one. Years ago I studied the Redhill CC Championship Trophy and discovered one year (apart from during WWI and WWII) where there was no winner. I then found (by asking the oldest member) that the games hadn't been finished for some reason so the competition was cancelled. That is now in the record books. At least with IoM, anyone looking at the list of winners in 50 years time will know why there's a gap.
