Thanks, that's basically what I'm looking for.

What are usually the conditions to qualify to the Championship? I can't seem to find the rules for 2022.

Some 3 months since an update to the British Chess Championships calendar. Those of us looking to enter the graded sections are left in limbo unable to know what week we are in. If they don't get their act together sharpish there won't be any graded sections players as there will be nowhere viable to stay! Get a move on whoever is in charge that. That's where the bulk of the entry fees come from!

I don't know with any specificity, but the section staggering they normally do would mean something like Open, U1800, U1400 being scheduled so as not to coincide with the main British, and U2000, U1600, U1200 being scheduled so they do coincide with it.

I suggest that you email Shohreh Bayat and Nigel Towers directly.

I should also have mentioned Kevin Staveley, whose email address is further down the page at the link which I gave. I suggest that you forward your email to him also.

Can I take it that Saturday 13 to Sunday 21 is now confirmed for the main event? (If so the page needs updating.)

Have the Olympiad dates been fixed? The idea is usually to avoid having the BC main event conflicting with those dates.

Yes, I gather that, but what I am really looking for here is somebody who knows definitively the answer to the question.

FIDE Calendar has 26 July to 8 August in Moscow

I assume so but this would best be changed from
British Championship
Saturday 13th – Sunday 21st August
(note that the dates may be subject to change depending on final schedule for the FIDE Olympiad)
As has been suggested above, emailing [email protected] might be the best idea

But they are not supposed to post here!
