A short summary of tournaments coming up next week:

4/1- 5/1 is the Hastings New Year Tournament, held at Horntye Park Sports Complex, Hastings TN34 1EX. For more information on this congress please contact Con Power on [email protected], or visit http://www.hastingschess.org.uk
There is also the last 2 rounds of the Hastings International Congress at the same venue, where GM Chris Ward will be providing commentary, for anyone wishing to spectate. The commentary starts at 14.45 each afternoon.

8/1- 10/1 is the South Wales Winter Congress, held at Chepstow Leisure Centre. See Wilf Arnold's post below for details.
