What is 3.d5 about too? I think I have seen it before though, I guess it is a radical way to avoid a Grunfeld.

Momentum with Bodhana in her game with Scottish hope Waldhausen (I use his surname since I am not sure whether Freddie or Gordon is correct) - White has been drifting and further drifting could be rather serious.

Freddy is his given
Gordon is his father's surname

Ah, a Spanish-style surname (although Spaniards usually put the father's surname first).

In that case, it is Freddy who steadied the ship; and it is Bodhana who is now drifting.

Shreyas playing a phenomenal game, he is calculating like an engine.

Like a strong GM, perhaps, would be a better way of putting it.

Shreyas seems to have allowed a rather nasty Rb5 tactic with his 40th move as Black.

No, he was literally playing the 1st move of the engine for a long sequence of moves.

Paul - what does Black play on move 8, then.
According to the computer, White is already outright winning then.

I wonder if PC was thinking of possible tricks after 8....Qc7, but they don't actually work.

I'm surprised. What line is winning Matt?

A good example of how NOT to trust the Chess24 computer assessments without actually playing through its variations to the end it looks like.

I was using Fritz, what is the saving line for Black then?

3. d5 was played a couple of times by Tigran Petrosian among others.

After 8. .. Qc7, a stockfish comes up with the idea 9. Qxa8 Bc3 where it thinks Black is worse but by a pawn, not a rook. In particular in a continuation 10. Kd1 Bb7 it much prefers Black after 11. Qxa7 Qd6+
