The Sunningdale Congress will take place over the weekend of Friday 10th September Sunday 12th September 2010.
Following the success of the late May bank holiday congress we are again visiting Sunningdale. Anyone who has played in the 4NCL will know that Sunningdale is a superb chess playing venue which can comfortably accommodate more than 200 players!
We have three sections which cater for all standards of player. The Open and the Major (open to players rated below 2000 FIDE or unrated players graded below 165 ECF) are FIDE rated, whilst all sections including the Minor (open to players graded below 135 ECF) will be ECF graded.
The Open is a British Championship Qualifier, whilst all sections will be part of the e2e4 grand prix - details of which will be published later this week.
Entry fees are competitively priced and, with a healthy prize fund on offer and discounted accommodation for chess players of £31 B&B per person per night (based on 2 sharing) and £46 B&B (single) there should be something for all players.
To book a room email [email protected].

Sean, as a matter of interest (related to an earlier discussion, but i don't know where) do you make your "rating" prizes open to everyone or are they restricted?

Our rating prizes are open to all and awarded based on the best W-We (score minus expected score) in each rating band. We decide the rating bands according to entry but ensure that there is a similar number of players in each band, and that each player is only in one rating band. For example, with 50 players we might have for example over 2150 (17 players) ; 2000-2149 (15 players) and under 2000 (18 playes). We do say thought that players cannot win more than one prize.Richard Bates wrote:Sean, as a matter of interest (related to an earlier discussion, but i don't know where) do you make your "rating" prizes open to everyone or are they restricted?
These bands are announced by the start of Round 2.
