The first of the series offered a British Championship place, has this now been withdrawn?

Not withdrawn, but we had special dispensation for the first event. Under 2200 events shouldn't really qualify for a BCQ, though there are some weekenders that still have grading limited top sections with a BCQ such as Kidlington.

The grading limit at Kidlington and other such events is at or above the level required for automatic qualification for the British Championship. Hence everyone not already qualified is eligible to play.

If you were to remove the "really", I would agree 100%

The January 2013 rating list is now out, so if your rating is under 2200 then you still have time to enter next weekend's congress in Hampstead, now a monthly event!

We're up to 31 entries for the weekend, and NW London is two degrees warmer than the rest of the country, so we hope to avoid too much snow!

Several more entries today, maybe we will get 32 players? So still space, and the snow isn't too bad in london...

Very impresed by this new venture, Adam.

Thanks James! We have added three more dates to our online entry form and already have a few entries to the next event on 16-17 February. There are some nice photos on Brendan O'Gorman's photoblog and most of the games are on the site.
