If I had been consulted earlier, I could have told you that they'd have got the colours right were it not for the ECF Membership Scheme.

The hotel evacuated because of a gas leak. We are currently in the Thistle hotel waiting to see what happens.

Some players are hoping they never get to see their position again!

Any well known arbiters visiting? Although that's usually fire alarms.

After a delay of about an hour, we are now back in the Old Ship and playing again.

He's in Gambia, so I would suspect his influence is somewhat limited this time!

I did assume, when the alarm went off, that David Sedgwick had just arrived but apparently not.

The internet connections from The Gambia were slow and erratic, so I've only just read this thread (having returned late on Thursday evening).

The Gambians were warned to expect the fire alarm to go off at some point during my stay. It didn't happen.

Brighton seems to have been more eventful.

Could be, having been forewarned, the Gambian authorities temporarily removed the batteries from all the alarms in David's vicinity.

Even more belatedly, thanks for the photos. My other half was very impressed with the playing venue.
