SPECTRUM CHESS - Purfleet and Guernsey

Is there no limit to the sightseeing opportunities available to Spectrum players?
1st Purfleet (Essex) Congress (U150, U120 and U90) is on 28th February and 1st March 2009.
4th Guernsey (One section, but several grading prizes) is on 3rd - 5th April 2009.
Contact Norman Went 07905 - 360659 for details, or see www.spectrumchess.com and follow links, or email me at kjtspectrum (at) aol.com. (Obviously fill in gaps and use "@")
Spectrum started in 1994 and aims to have tournaments in decent accommodation, with good playing conditions. Some regulars travel all over the country, and otherwise local players take advantage of a nearby tournament. There is almost invariably a friendly atmosphere, and there are very few disputes.
The Royal Hotel, Purfleet overlooks the Thames, and is only 2 miles from M25, and only half an hour from Central London by train. Norman Went will handle hotel bookings.
The Peninsula Hotel in Guernsey offers excellent facilities at specially discounted prices (contact hotel direct). The local players are eager for mainland opposition and Guernsey is well worth a visit. There is no VAT on Guernsey....
