A 25 board match is to be played this Sunday in Manchester v Liverpool + a junior match starting at 1pm..
All are welcome to attend and full details are on the MCF website..
Apparently Manchester were the first chess club in England, initially formed 200 years ago.

This is an historic occasion often fought out by captains JH Blackburne for Manchester and Amos Burn for Liverpool. The first game between Liverpool and Manchester was 1855 and took place annually for approx 100 years, hopefully we can keep this going annually from now on. See details of the first game here:
