Inaugural ECF and FIDE-rated Warwick University Rapidplay Tournament, held on Saturday 3rd February 2018, at the University of Warwick, Library 2, Library Road, Coventry, West Midlands, CV4 7AL.

There will be an Open and Minor (U135 ECF) Section; both with seven rounds of 15 minutes + 10 second increment.

Entry Fees: £5
100% of fees goes towards prize money.

Open- Estimated Prize:
1st: £70 (28%)
2nd: £40 (16%)
3rd: £20 (8%)
Grading Prize: £20 (8%)

Minor- Estimated Prize:
1st: £50 (20%)
2nd: £30 (12%)
3rd: £10 (4%)
Grading Prize: £10 (4%)

Estimate Prizes based on an expected 50 entrants; prizes based on fixed percentages in brackets.

Playing Schedule:
Round 1: 10:30-11:40
Round 2: 11:40-12:50
Round 3: 12:50-14:00
Round 4: 14:00-15:10
Round 5: 15:10-16:20
Round 6: 16:20-17:30
Round 7: 17:30-18:40

Closing Ceremony and Prize Distribution: 18:40-18:50

A variety of campus shops, restaurants and cafes will be open. The closest being the library café next door:

Final day for entries are today! The Tournament is tomorrow (03 Feb 2017), Round 1 starting at 10:30.

Make sure you get your entries in - however, if you have trouble with the online entries system, please email us; we will be able to sort it out for you on a case-by-case basis

Also, note that parking is available next to the venue, and will be free on the weekend.

Shame I only just saw this, I probably would have turned up if I knew about it sooner.

Good effort getting everything organised, it looked like a successful tournament, if you are planning another one it would be good to know so I can try and get up to play it this time.

For your interest, there are two events that might be of interest you in 2019:

Sunday 27th January: Coventry & District's CENTENARY RAPIDPLAY (6 rounds, 20'+10'', ECF-graded, and FIDE-rated) - celebrating 100 years of the League.

Saturday 16th February: 2nd Warwick University Rapidplay Tournament (7 rounds, 15'+10'', ECF graded & FIDE rated) - details coming soon.
