A couple of tips from previous years' experiences. If travelling by public transport, use Ramsgate station rather than Broadstairs because there's a frequent bus which passes through the nearby shopping mall. If travelling by car, beware the M25 and M20 on a summer Friday.

Preliminary results are now on the website homepage -

http://www.thanetchesscongress.co.uk/

Open Champion: IM Adam Hunt 1st prize 4/5

Kent Open Champ: Mikey Watson 2nd= 3.5/5

(No sign of Shreyas - he may be concentrating on junior international titles now!?)

Congratulations to organiser Andy Flood and arbiter Kevin Thurlow who hope to pull a 50th Thanet Congress out of the bag next year in Aug.
