Regular competitors should note that round 1 starts at 19.00 on FRIDAY night (not Saturday Morning as in previous years).

I'm not sure what I think of the non standard move rate. It's 40 moves in 90 minutes plus 15 minutes to finish, along with 15 second increments. So equivalent to all the moves in 105 minutes plus 15 second increments. The advantage or disadvantage of that against the FIDE standard of all moves in 90 minutes plus 30 second increments is that there's no need to keep score once the remaining time drops below 5 minutes. It's also likely to lead to a marginally shorter playing session as any long game has to be played at a tempo of 15 seconds a move rather than 30.
