I'm quite interested in this new service the ECF is offering (grading university accommodation). Are the details available anywhere? :-)

Edited for your benefit Michael

I'm guessing that Trip Advisor is ahead of the ECF at this grading :)

Looked him up on the FIDE site and a few inconsistencies with what's on the chess results info although whether it matters or not I don't know.
IM Nikolay Milchev (ie not Nikolai) FIN: 2906090 Elo: 2417 and he is listed under the FIDE flag not Bulgaria given Bulgaria's Chess Federation's problems.

Given the event isn't FIDE-rated, the BUL v FID issue probably doesn't make any difference in practice to the Manchester Congress. However, the misspelling of his name and non-inclusion of his FIDE ID on Chess-Results ensures there's a high probability that the organiser of the next tournament he enters - who may spot what you have and uses that information as definitive - creates a duplicate grading reference for him in the ECF database due to a mismatch of name and nationality.

151 entries in total, which I'm told is the best for 20 years :D

When Nikolay first entered he spelt his name with an "i", So we did.

Subsequently we found it was spelt with a "y" by FIDE. We discussed the situation with him and changed his name to Nikolay on all our documentation. He wants to play 4NCL chess and I will pm Lawrence with his email address.

That's good to hear. Hopefully when other organisers have the same issue they are as dutiful as you were. :)
