From tonymrcorfe email dated 15/09/20

Today I have spoken with the manager of the Lysses House Hotel at Fareham. Nikki had spoken with NHS England who have confirmed that the new government guidance prohibits the running of events like the one which Castle Chess is trying to organise. The comment passed back to us was that it looked like we had planned in our risk assessment for everything that was possible to do to keep everyone safe.
So with regret, we must announce that the Fareham Event has been cancelled.
In consultation with Nikki I have pencilled a booking for the weekend 12th – 14th March 2021

Sadly my 91 year old mother passed away today. I had enter Congress at Fareham for same dates but has been cancelled now. Im amazed the North Shields going ahead with 6 in room government rules. Thats why Fareham was cancelled

Sorry to hear that Ronnie. I guess some things are more important than chess.
