It's difficult, because you want to encourage chess and be grateful for such events, but sometimes you need to point out in a subtle way, that some things might have been overlooked. Difficult balance.

I think you can be very confident that nothing has been said here has been overlooked. Whether they have the right answers to those points is another matter and only time will tell.

The organisers have been in touch. It is being run by an experienced crew.

The Arena thing (which I know nothing about) is because they expect a load of newbies and do not want
them hanging about online with no game to play. Sounds like they have it covered and thought it out.

That's a good point. Also you might get accidental losses on time, when someone goes for a walk and the round starts unexpectedly. Arena allows you to "pause" if you need to wander off for a bit.
