Hi all,

Our England Junior LIChess online tournaments continue this week, so please see the links below and get signed up for our various
tournaments.

These are proving popular with 265 players already involved so far in 2024.

Tuesday Blitz – 8th October - 18:00 (7 round Swiss - 3 + 2) =>

Please note, no LIChess Thursday Rapid this week as it would clash with
the 4NCL Junior League

Friday Rapid - due to the large number of players last week for a 4 round tournament we have decided to experiment with “splitting” the
Friday Rapid into two sections – an “Open” (no entry restrictions) and an “Under 1700” (restricted to players graded under 1700 for last 7 days
and who have played 20+ games on LIChess, so they have a “stable grade”)

Hi Alex - they certainly are...and going from strength to strength !

I stopped posting them on here as they didn't seem to get any interest - perhaps I need to start again if at least one person reads them
I send invites to all members of the team for each event and we're getting good turnouts from that
I also send an email to the "parent emails" i.e. the info I've previously posted on here

Thanks Keith. I'm relatively new to running a junior chess club so just trying to get my head around all this. Do you mean that if they join the ECF junior "team" on lichess then they will get notifications/invites about the events through the lichess messaging?

Yes - I send an invite for each tournament - they run 5 days out of 7 - they get Mondays & Wednesdays off
Some are mega-keen and have played in 100+ tournaments
I'm KeithDFG on LIChess for more info etc.
n.b. they do need to provide full name and current ECF membership number - many don't provide this and cannot be messaged so I have to decline them
