I think this can be put here under Junior Chess as well.

Record-breaking achievement by Supratit Banerjee who at the age of 12 years (and I think 5 or 6 months) has achieved the IM title by following up his third IM norm at the recent British Championships by achieving a live rating of over 2400 today (2407 to be precise) at the Hotel Stockholm North Young Talents (11-17 August) (forum thread).

This is a new age record for the UK for the IM title (12 years and 5 months now, or in a few more months if going by when FIDE would ratify later in the year any application made).
