A really excellent day, with strong support from the school, parents, coaches and teachers alike. A very worthwhile day for girls and women's chess in general.

It was an amazing turn out considering it was snowing all day!
Well worth attending due to the excellent hospitality:
Free lunch for competitors and parents, spacious venue, team rooms, a cafe, parking attendants, first rate arbiters...
Thanks to Andrew and St. Catherine's for doing such a superb job.

Lots of positives from this event.
Really nice venue, easy to find, lots of parking, spacious playing hall, teams room for everyone, rounds kept to time.
You could see St. Catherine's were very keen to make it a sucess - both the Head of the Prep and Senior Schools at the prize giving.
Well done to everyone involved.

Interesting, and pleasing from a Northumberland viewpoint, that Newcastle Prep school qualify from the 'Southern' Semi-final. I wonder if any teams playing in the 'Northern' semi-final at Cheadle Hulme come from as far North?

Congratulations to all the competitors, organisers, schools, teachers, and parents for making the semi-final such a success.

A biased well done to NPS Girls and chess teacher Richard Boddy for their excellent result, especially now they have qualified for the final. Commiserations to St. Dunstan's.
