great win for Akshaya. Matthew made it tough as he could for his opponent and hopefully will be better rewarded tomorrow.

13 from 21 so already our second best day with two still to come (Charlie and Matthew). Sacha won, and Rufus and Cosima drew.

I'll risk incurring Neville's wrath by posting here (see other thread. My word Neville, what would you have said in 1993, if we had an internet and English Chess Forum back then?)
Early days obviously, but I think that Akshaya stands a bit better and the position should suit her patient style.

The opening was from the Hebden repertoire, but Mark's opponents generally preferred 7. .. e6 or 7 . ..Na6Jonathan Rogers wrote: Early days obviously, but I think that Akshaya stands a bit better and the position should suit her patient style.

It looks like a good game. I think White must stand better, but I think whoever plays best will win (I don't think we'll see a draw). Good stuff.

White does look better, with play on both sides of the board.Matthew Turner wrote:It looks like a good game. I think White must stand better, but I think whoever plays best will win (I don't think we'll see a draw). Good stuff.
