Diana Mirza of Ireland (whose father is Romanian) has won the Girls U17 with 6.5/9 on tiebreak ahead of an Azeri girl.
She is already a veteran of two FIDE olympiads.
Why no English competitor in this?

It's not a good time of year for English U-17s to take time off school.

It's not a good time of the year for anyone in school to take time off.
There is a cost implication & decision & was well thought out.
It was last weekend of 4NCL so the top juniors were supporting their teams & playing.

Congrats to all those playing - including the Irish - & their coaches & organisers.
