Matthew was very happy to finish his very last match as a Reading pupil with the team becoming champions for the 3rd time in 5 years 😀

Thanks to all the organisers for their excellent and hard work.

A report
An interesting and perhaps unique pairing method. A 16 team Swiss over 4 rounds, but as it's a team competition, ties can be broken the traditional way by board count or bottom board elimination. There will only ever be two teams on 3/3 after three rounds, so you can have a head to head for the trophy and runner up.

Indeed the championships have always been a knockout tournament and that has been preserved in this format.

Many congratulations to Reading School on their third victory and to all the schools who qualified for the Finals (sixteen in all).
