Speed/Performance Issues

There will be speed issues at this time as the forum shares hosting with the live chess broadcast from Hastings, so apologies :oops:

It's pretty clear there is something seriously wrong with the shared hosting powering this forum today

As soon as I can hassle the service provider (I will be doing so...) but I am afraid today is still a limited staff day and this is proving difficult :!:

Even if this is a FREE service the performance today is just NOT acceptable

There will be some emergency maintenance undertaken by my service provider starting at 10pm this evening

Some disruption is likely at that time - sorry for the short notice!

The changes are now complete

Let's hope the performance is a little better - however if this is not the case then I will move this whole forum off the shared hosting solution onto one of my dedicated boxes

I have had some hassle today - but not as much as when hastings was on.
I'll try and record and report them properly

The forum has been slower recently, particularly when Hastings live games were on

I do notice many more new posts when I log on, however, so am pleased to see it has become busier (I was going to say more popular, but not sure that is the right phrase)
