Search Issue?

Post by Carl Hibbard » Sun Nov 18, 2018 1:01 pm

Anyone having problems with the search function?

I must admit I never use it myself but a problem has been reported so if anyone has seen any sort of issue then please reply with problems you are seeing with searches you are attempting.

A quick test here and it seems fine so feedback welcome.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Carl,

I am not having that issue but for the last two to three weeks I have been having problems with being spontaneously logged out.

If I am sending a message, I have to remember to save the text by Ctrl + C. Otherwise I lose it if the problem occurs.

Has anyone else reported this?

David

The search issue is the maximum timeout exceeding the 30 second limit so some maintenance will be needed sorry.

We crossed the 1 gig database size so that won't be helping.

I will update the software at some point during the week probably with little warning I am afraid just too busy at the moment.

First attempted fix was a failure so more time will be needed in the week on this one.

I wonder if my problem is something similar. If I go inactive for 30 seconds, am I being logged out?

No that one is in days.

The search is just a maximum time to return a query so searching for something really generic causes a problem.

In your example David you have something like 30 minutes to compose and send the message I think.

Thanks. In that case that is not the cause of my problem.

This maintenance with no warning is now complete however the search issue is still ongoing.

I figured the problem out and the search issue should be resolved.
Yes working a lot faster - minimum characters indexed is now 4 not 3 otherwise the results are good.
