Post by John Swain » Sun Mar 17, 2013 8:08 pm

Many thanks are due to Phill Beckett of The King's School, Grantham for organising this inaugural event today at King's, to David Welch for acting as Arbiter and providing the equipment and not least to Neill Cooper who combined managing the winning team, Wilson's 'A', with doing the gradings as the tournament progressed. It was a most enjoyable event.

Fourteen teams of four played. The results were:

st - Wilson's 'A' 17 points (out of a possible 20)
nd - RGS Guildford 14.5
rd - Nottingham High School 13.5
th - Dame Alice Owen's 12.5
th - King's Grantham 12 (also winning a trophy as the highest placed Lincolnshire team)
th - Bolton School 11
th - Wilson's 'B' 10.5
th= Bolton 'B' and Cordeaux Academy 8.5
th - King's 'B' 8
th - Meden School 'A' 7
th= Caistor Grammar School and King's 'C' 6.5
th - Meden 'B' 4
