Do you want a draw?
Re: Caption Competition
There was some hilarity in the commentary at the Candidates on Saturday when the big screen behind Fontaine and Trent went from a game to Boris G sitting alone at the board, Vlad K having gone walkabout. Boris was doing his twirling a knight trick just below table level. Trouble was the piece not visible and it looked as if Boris was playing with himself.

As Derek sat carefully sorting out the chess sets, certain members of the English Chess Forum had a deep sense of empathy with his task at hand, having been there, done that and got the t-shirt more times than they cared to remember.

It's as well to be prepared, you never know how many pawns you might need to promote during a game

Re: Caption Competition
It's cheating a bit but there are about a hundred book titles which could be applied to this.
For instance...
"How Not To Play Chess"
(Znosko-Borovsky)
or
"Catastrophe In The Opening"
(Neishtadt)
etc... etc...

Was this Derek's punishment for losing to me in the 2009/10 Barrington Trophy Final?
